New Years' Devotion

I’m sure a lot of you have made a New Years’ resolution, right? It doesn’t necessarily mean you have to make an actual list on paper, does it? You can make a list in your mind of what you want to change. Keep God in mind when you make your list. If one of the things you put down was ‘I want to be better at designing blog buttons for people’………….is that something you think God would help you with? I’m not trying to make you feel bad, trust me. It is good to be better at doing things for people, but that shouldn’t be a main priority. My New Years’ resolution has a lot to do with growing closer to the Lord. I am struggling these days with reading His word daily. I keep saying ‘Oh, I’ll do it tomorrow,’ but it just never seems to happen. I realize now I need to get up earlier and make it happen. If I have time to post and mess around on my blog, then I have time to read God’s word, don’t you think?

It says a lot in the Bible about this subject on making NEW.

Ezekiel 36:26 “I will give you a NEW heart and put a NEW spirit in you; I will remove from you your heart of stone and give you a heart of flesh.”
Ephesians 4:23-24 “To be made NEW in the attitude of your minds, and to put on the NEW self, created to be like God in true righteousness and holiness.”
Psalm 40:3 “He put a NEW song in my mouth, a hymn of praise to our God.” I think this verse refers to worshiping Christ more than you did, and giving you many more things to praise Him about.

Out of those verses, which one stood out to you in your situations and everyday life? The one which stood out to me is Ephesians 4:23-24. It talks about giving you a NEW good attitude and being a NEW person, and to be more like God in righteousness and holiness. This verse is also referring to the unsaved person, but I think it also refers to people who are saved but still need a NEW heart for the Lord.

Has this changed your perspective on what a New Years’ resolution means? It did for me. Happy New Year, everybody, and have a great 2010!

Hey Lulu!
Cool blog! I just think it's great that you're finally starting a new one (and no problem about the forgotten password---grin). Well, I'll probably be one of those lurkers out there so check the comments often...I just might have posted one! Wish I had a blog too so we could stay in contact with each other, but it'll happen in a few yerars, probably. I'll tell you when I make a blog. You can count on me.

Your Sister in Christ,
Lily

Hello dear Lulu--

One more thing! (or a couple of more things) (grin)

What sort of blogs do you follow? Do you like all the Wissmann blogs?

About movies now...have you seen the movie Prince Caspian? I have--I really like it! What about you? Have you seen Facing the Giants? That's an awesome movie too. Oh, and have you seen the movie Pendragon? I LOVE it! It's not that famous, but it's great! And when is your birthday?

Post often! Thanks! Keep shining brightly for our Lord! He loves us all so much!

Your Sister in Christ,
~Lady Lily~

SORRY!!!!

I know, but I just have to comment again. I like your blog button with the baby on it and the numbers counting up. It makes me so sad. It made me think of your blog's name...Heavenward Bound. In Heaven babies will never again be killed in this way...or any way.

I know, I know...this is my third comment on this post. My apologizies.

Hmmm. Another blog. Newness is really wonderful, and truly rare because only God can make something REALLY new.
For example- I WILL GIVE you a new heart.

HE PUT a new song in my mouth

Glad you see that only God can do that.

Yes, I've decided, I will give you another chance at blogging--- IF you will write down your password information on a Microsoft Word Document and store that carefully away!

:D LOL.
Btw, I like your background.
